Ryslig College of Archaeology
The College of Archaeology, originally founded by Triffany Lottablog in November 2022, is situated northeast of Vandare, near the road to Bavan. Students can live on one of the on-site dormitories or in nearby cities, and the local populace are employed as caretakers of the grounds. Scientists, artisans and specialists in art restoration, folklore and safe expedition procedures - including Haftesal residents and local monsters - are invited to teach here. All are welcome to sign up to give and attend public lectures.

After Professor Lottablog's departure from Ryslig in January 2023, the presidency of the college was left to Steven Grant (local history lover and newly-appointed teacher). Steven happily leaves all the big decisions to the board of directors, which is comprised entirely of Ryslig natives, and does his best to honor Triffany's legacy by raising awareness and interest for the college.
The Lottablog College is a large brick building that contains lecture halls, laboratories, and workshops. Students are offered classes in mathematics, chemistry, biology, sociology, history, linguistics, arts (particularly in restoration and physical artwork creation), music and cultural studies. If it can be related to history and excavation, then it's taught here. Workshops are set up to teach people how to properly handle artifacts and bones. These used to be taught by Professor Lottablog, but have since been taken over by a local who's adopted her methods.

The Office Building (currently unnamed) contains offices and meeting rooms. This is the best place to catch any particular researcher or do some research at the library. The book collection is currently small but growing.

The Ryslig History Museum houses the artifacts found on the peninsula and under the sea. Their main rooms hold paintings and other relics that were dug up or rescued from the past, while the back rooms hold some of the more interesting finds. Relics with owners that can be tracked are sent back to the descendants, but just as often they are left here to teach the current generation about their past. The campus retains ties to all historical societies across Ryslig and encourages them to share exhibits and form a centralized network of information gathering.

The Dormitories (currently unnamed) allow scholars easy access both to their classes and to the nearby cities. Dorms include single-gender and co-ed living spaces, and include laundry rooms, dining halls, and study areas.

Steven's Vegetable Garden lies within walking distance of the campus, closer to the dirt roads leading to Vandare. As a sleepless Naphil who's full of stress, he needs lots of hobbies to keep himself busy and decided he might as well toss some gardening into the mix. There's technically a padlock on the wooden fence around it, but really, anyone who wants to can jump that fence. Please don't destroy his hard work! (Or do. Just be warned, he'll get very cross if he ever finds out who the culprit was.)

(frozen comment) MUSEUM EXHIBITS
- Paintings. Landscapes, portraits, even some mythological depictions.
- Tools. Typical artisan tools, mining tools from the town across the mountains, metalworking tools… And some very intimidating rusty pliers.
- Clay vases and figures. Some figures depict monsters, others are just animals or humans.
- Jewelry. For the most part, there's nothing too elaborate here, just a few bracelets, necklaces and rings in various states of corrosion. The highlight of the collection is an elaborate headpiece adorned with rubies and feathers, said to have washed up on shore near Strand in the year 138. It appears to be in pristine condition.
- Amulets dedicated to the Day and Night gods, respectively.
- Various coins, both early versions of solars and currencies which were in use in Ryslig before that. Some otherworlders have also generously donated change they happened to have on hand when they arrived, so the collection includes American pennies and quarters, small amounts of Japanese yen and stuff from non-Earth worlds.
- A big, musty carpet taken from the town across the mountains. The patterning on it that's still visible is very nice.
- A recreation of the mask that was stolen in September. The text explains that the original mask was carved from a single, massive hunk of ivory, its origin unknown, and adorned with gold. It was recovered from the wastelands. Attr. Dr. Allen Skaarsson. The word Draugr is added to it, but with a rather uncertain scribble.
- A selection of shimmering stones retrieved from the bottom of Lake Fors last March.
- Photos of the sunken city in Lake Fors. This includes houses (interior and exterior), the Sjörå's cave and even the nasty sawblade fish. It also includes a warning which reads: "Please do not attempt to visit this location at risk of your own life, as it is considered hallowed ground."
- Photos of the mining town beyond the mountains. This includes the stained glass window of the church, and the old mining facility. Some of the photos seem to have blurry, humanoid-like shapes in the background. Just as with the sunken city, this exhibit holds a warning: "Please do not attempt to visit this location at risk of your own life!" (No elaboration on that, huh. Okay.)
Also available in the museum are printed transcripts of several old books and journals retrieved from the wastes. The originals are locked away safe and sound, but anyone who's interested can have a transcript for free. There's… a lot of romance novels in there. And a copy of bedtime stories for children.
